@lexikalfanfic Bravo, well said. In fact UK scientists are suggesting world hunger can be solve by alternative food supply as insects instead of relying on livestock. Also insects have very high but healthy protein, unlike meat.

I have eaten some insect food cuisines before and even fried spiders. If you people complain about this, so why not complain the same on eating livestock or even wild animals? How ironic!

@DORproductions117 Humans are made of "bacon" too. Our flesh tastes very similar according to people who have cannibalized (this is why pacific islanders call as "long pig") and humans are so genetically similar that we can use organs from pigs to some degree (my little cousin, who was born with a bad heart, has had at least 4 operations to put a pig valve in his heart until he can have a transplant when older). So I am not sure that logic works very well... ;)

For the people who think its "gross"- it is a little weird for us North Americans, but only because we aren't used to it. Come on, seriously... there is probably a part of you that is curious! Start slow with escargot, then try fried meal worms (you can even freeze and then dry them and grind them up- haven't tried those yet). Weird is only weird because it is new to us. Considering the number of insects and spiders on Earth, this seems like a great and eco-friendly way to get animal protein.

I'd much rather eat spiders or insects than pigs (smart as dogs!) or cows full of hormones and all sorts of other chemicals. Not to mention the intelligence angle- cows, pigs, lambs, chickens, etc... are all much brighter than insects and spiders and suffer much more. I want to replace my red meat consumption with meal worms and other insects. My sister is a vegan and she thinks my desire to eat "bugs" is gross, but she supports it if it means I no longer eat factory farmed animals.

@chadpopstar If we weren't meant to eat pigs, they wouldn't be made of bacon!

Shocking Asia. Though not any more shocking than slaughtering gentle animals like pigs or chickens.
