  • What is spec for the depth?

  • @BIgBlocksnHardRock 5.0L & 5.8L- (1.634-1.636 inch) 3.8L - (1.629-1.640 inches) These specs include the hieght of the tool which is .700 inches

  • should your output shaft move up and down and side to side?and what would be wrong your bearing and bushing or one or the other and how would you change them?

  • @dupont4sure The output shaft itself might have some play in it if you take the yoke out but with the yoke in it should not have much wiggle to it. If it moves alot and is destroying your rear seal then it could be your extension housing bushing is worn.

  • Question....can you use the 2wd transmission and remove the extension housing and mate it to a transfer case?

  • @thick2licknstick I'm not sure, ive never had a 4X4 one to look at, but I bet it could probably be done.

  • Hi, Im putting a 1988 AOD in my 68 mustang...Does the electric plug have to be connected to anything? or is that just for overdrive? If yes, is it just 12v and a ground? Please let me know. thanks

  • @bah53 hey man, thanks alot! Might be having some more ?'s on some other clearances.

  • how long do u think it would take for an experienced mechanic to swap out a bad AOD and put a rebuilt in?

  • Hey, I've got an aod out of a 1988 mustang gt that has received a total rebuild but my out put shaft doesn't spin and when the gear selector is moved into the park position I don't hear the parking paw engage. Could the parking paw be stuck, and what type of end play should the input shaft and out put shaft have? Also when you put the needle bearing in the bottom before the out put shaft was dropped in is there a correct side that goes face down or is it universal?
