(Watch in HD!)
And now we continue on with the epic that is Sonic the Hedgehog CD, which is proclaimed to be the best 2-D Sonic game from the classic series. It's a game that hasn't seen many ports since it's release, but thanks to SEGA and Christian "Taxman" Whitehead, everyone is now able to experience this time traveling classic of the blue blur's.
As said above, Sonic CD uses a unique gimmick within the game. When you have passed a post labeled 'Past' or 'Future' and build up enough speed, you'll be warped into a different time period of that zone, and lucky for you, playing the game so long has helped me find the best spots to abuse this rule and warp through time with ease
Palmtree Panic starts the game off, being vividly colored and having pristine water in the background, along with many palmtrees, and even higher areas and underground walkways to traverse, and along the way, we come across Amy Rose, total lovesick hedgehog that has her eyes set on our blue hero. And as with every Sonic game, there are badniks to contend with...
Badnik Watch
Mosqui - Kamikaze mosquito bots that fly in a straight line, but immediately nose down and jam their pointy nasal units into the ground as soon as you pass underneath. The damaged ones have bent noses and fly a bit slower.
Pata-Bata - Butterfly bots that flutter around in a zig-zag motion. The damaged ones bear a hole in each wing and they also fly slower.
Anton - Unicycled ant bots that roll back and forth along the ground. The damaged ones simply look rather depressed, and putter along slower than their more cheerful brethren.
Kamemushi - Stinkbug bots that roll back and forth along the ground, pausing occasionally to fire a pair of flashing projectiles from their rear ends. The damaged ones (which don't look any different) roll along slower and, though they put forth a valiant effort, are incapable of firing any projectiles.
Taga-tage - Giant water bug bots that hop in and out of waterfalls, ala Bata-bata. The broken form shows no spikes along it's spine.
Now there are special stages that you can get into by getting to the goal and holding 50 rings for a giant ring to appear ala Sonic 1 style, which you can warp to and attempt to get the Time Stones, with each stage requiring you to destroy six UFOs on different courses, with some become harder, and with a time limit to contend with. Stepping into the water causes your time to greatly decrease.
But if you have trouble with the stones and you want the good ending, you can warp into the past of each zone, and track down a robot generator. Destroying both in Acts 1 and 2 automatically makes Act 3 of that zone a good future. And if you feel like it, there's a hologram projector of Metal Sonic hidden in every zone that's terrorizing the animal populace on Little Planet, so crush those and let the stage be filled with animals all around.
Robotnik Bumper-walker
Hits: 3
The bosses in this game take less hits than the Genesis bosses, but thats due to their attack methods. Robotnik's mech has bumpers on both of its arms, knocking you away when you try to attack. Wait until he draws both bumpers to the sides of the mech and whale onto the doc's machine, and he'll fly off in defeat for this round.

@Rashman21 Yes. Casey Rankin, who wrote them, died in 2009, so it would have been messy to license the lyrics.

lol the intro song has lyrics! Every XBLA playthrough I seen had those taken out. Glad u added them back.
How come they took them out? Licencing Issues, I bet.
