There is a claim: Stairway to Heaven was stolen from Spirit`s Taurus.
Spirit themselves nicked this song from Davy Graham`s version for Cry me a River released 10 years before.
It is quite clear that large section of Taurus was taken from Cry me a River without credits.
Please check Davy Graham song Cry me a River at youtube and remake your decision.

There is quite clearly a similarity, in one small segment of both songs. The inspiration obviously came from Spirit, BUT - this is where artistry comes into play. LZ took a kernel, and made a complete package. Listen to the entire songs, not just snippets edited to prove a point. There's a reason EVERYBODY knows Stairway to Heaven, and almost nobody knows Taurus! Just because I can't PLAY a musical instrument... or write music, doesn't mean I can't appreciate it.

Stairway to Heaven is a great song, but the intro is clearly stolen(Jimmy hears the song writen by The Spirit for the first time after a concert with the Yardbirds, and guess what, the headliners was The Spirit). Anyone that says that are two different song(referencing to the intro), well, has a problem. Another example is the bass line and the riff on Dazed and Confused, originally composed by Jake Holmes, was litterally copyed by LZ.
Anyway i've played LZ songs for years.

I'm not a musician or anything, but both sound completely different. Even speeding up the tempo on the Spirit song wouldn't make it a rip off. Influenced? Highly likely. Stole? No way. Making it 100 times better? Definitely

How little Led Zeppelin fans want to admit that someone else existed before their God Jimmy Page. As if Life Does Not Imitate Art? I suppose they'd also defend on technicalities that Page also ripped off Bert Jansch's [later of Pentangle fame] tune 'Black Water Side'? Please do your history research and learn. How many here can even play a musical instrument [not including the ipod] ? [*See 'Down By Blackwaterside' in Wikipedia]

Actually Page stated in an interview during the 70's that he had not done the solo.
