Obama is not a socialist. Obama serves his masters on Wall Street. hence the campaign contributions, the bailouts and the bailout health insurance, forcing people to buy private deregulated health insurance.

Gold did flow to the US after the Fed stopped inflating. The Fed also inflated the monetary base another $200 million. But there was$75 billion in total money, but only $50 billion in actual deposits. The gold and fiat reflation couldn't make up for the $25 billion unaccounted for in the system. Foreign and domestic dollar holders alert of the dollar's irredeemability, making further reflation impossible. Fractional reserve banking's instability and fraud had been revealed by the market.
The Fed increased the FIAT money supply by 60% during the 20's to stem England's gold outflow. Great Britain tried to revalue the pound at its pre-war level. The pound fell and fears grew that the dollar was also losing its redeemability. So Hoover and the Fed stopped inflating in 1929. The bust then ensued. The Fed tried to reflate but was trapped by foreign redeemers and domestic bank runs (i.e., logical dollar holders).
