"I cry, Mercy" es una preciosa canción del grupo Smith-Perkins-Smith, incluída en el álbum que lleva el nombre del grupo del año 1972. Su calidad de sonido no es la mejor, debido a que está grabada de un vinilo que se hizo con los medios de la época. Su letra dice así: She rises in the morning light goes to bed at night alone there aren't too many laughs inside her week of days. But she gets up every Sunday morning, goes to church, and she's reborn, Sunday noon she steps into the Sun. And on her Sunday afternoon, she's happy saying it's too soon, to compromise the lady she should be. I cry, Mercy, I'm not asking you to throw respect away, I cry, Mercy, won't you meet me half away. Sunday only last a day, Monday comes and Mercy fades, She finds the fear that keeps her more than far away When I can I always come, but we can't be along too long, Mercy says she has to save her name. She's holding on to Sunday noon and saying it's too soon to compromise the lady she should be. I cry, Mercy, I'm not asking you to throw respect away, I cry, Mercy, won't you meet me half away. Between the place you think you ought to be, and where I stand there's love to be had, if you try to see that you could meet me there. I cry, Mercy, I'm not asking you to throw respect away, I cry, Mercy, won't you meet me half away.
