@1991honda250x he had the engine rebuilt at 1 million miles. I would would do the same too, no matter how well its built, a million is really pushing it.

These cars are built to last! They never really got the credit they deserved. People are just now starting to appreciate these cars. Perfect example of longevity is the Cubans. They're still driving relics from the 1940's and '50's. Too bad we live in a throwaway society. A new car is nice. A well cared for older,.automobile, that's still on the road, reliablly, serving it's owner. is IMPRESSIVE.

@boskey10 I can beleve it VWs are built to last my dad who knows nothing about car matenice has never had one that hasnt lasted at least 15 years. My base modle lupo is 10 now and still runs like new.

The cars engine and transmission has been 'rebuilt a couple of times'
There is NO reason any car can't keep going for this many miles, as long as its looked after and relatively rust free any car after being 'rebuilt' could keep going
