WARNING:Contains some drama.

I wasn't kidding when I decided to do this. Check out my Union Pacific engine. I call it the beast because it's my biggest train in my collection. Enjoy.

EDIT: I've added some annotations to point out a few obscure facts about this engine.

  • What couplers did you install on it? I have 3 of those engines but the hole on the kadee #5's is bigger than the screw this locos have.

  • The couplers are easy fit magnetic ones. They were put on the end of a stick that connects to a pocket.

  • What brand?

  • Bachmann Spectrum.

  • how much was she and how long ago u brought her

  • I've had this for a long time.

  • super!!!!!!!!!! Dom

  • @ariels36 - In case you're still looking for a coupler solution, see if you can get Kadee's #212 "Talgo Truck Adapter" pack - something in that pack should adapt not only Kadees but Bachmann E-ZMate Mk 2 as well to your DDA40Xs.

  • When dat boy iz passin' anuthuh train on the other track, it prob'ly scrapes it, huh?

  • was it dcc instaled or not

  • First half of the captions....thats wut she said :P

I know, very childish of me....but otherwise great video hahaha

  • I have two, and they run fine on a 30" radius, but I ground the flanges off the inner wheels to get them to run properly.

  • Very nice engine, regards from NL

  • 0:23 ITS GODZILLA!!!! RUN!

  • I know that sound clip! Its a Metra From Chicago leaving the station!

  • The Centennial DDA40X is 98ft 5in in length, The Baldwin DR-12-8-1500/2 (Centipede) is 91ft 6in in length. Thus proving that the DDA40X is the longest diesel-electric locomotive ever built. If you wish to debate against this then Email me on my account... My family has over 100 years of personal experience in the railroad (great grandfather, grandfather, father, and me) so i know my american railroads...
