Rare interview Michael Jackson's WYBT vs Albano Carrisi's Cigni di Balaka - dispute of plagiarism

Albano Carrisi, italian singer and songwriter claimed that Jackson stole the baseline of his song "Cigni di Balaka". As MJ died released Carrisi this interview done on the phone to an italian news agency.

the way he spoke and the the way he called MJ a "dwarf in his life" had made a big controversy in italy and Carrisi's reputation among the MJ fans dropped drastically! even non-mj-fans where quite shocked by his speech.


this interview is in italian but was traduced into english. at the end of the clip there is a compare of the 2 songs...

at 2:25 there's a spelling mistake: "He's name" instead of "His name", I used to write formerly "He's named..." but changed at the final edit...

I am Italian and I CAN'T accept reading sentences like "how big is Albano in italy,...." or "young and old italian love Albano in italy"..

Italian Music (M maiusc) sounds like De Andrè, De Gregori, Guccini, Verdi,....

Albano in NOTHING in Italy.

i agree with volatilixdiabetici, in italy albano is not so big like some ppl r stating here & he's also not a good reputation. he's a little bit a clown (does talkshows & reality shows) and u can't really compare his songs 2 the ones of mj. anyway the tracks sound the same that's undeniable (not all the parts of course). so he won the trial. may be it was coincidence may be not. this things happen in the music industry. interpolations, covers, samples.. some songs contain elements from 2-3 songs

Though they do sound much alike, yet the melody is not exactly the same, there ARE differences ... it's plain to hear.

Btw, I'm from Austria, Europe, and I like Al Bano (Barrisi)'s music, too.

But to me it simply is not one and the same song.

I have never Michael Jackson music nor do I listen to his music it turns me off, his boring. There are people in music that are better then him in singing. Young and Old Italian love Al Bano in Italy.

You sound like American that won't accept Michael Jackson stole the song. You don't even know Al Bano full given name that proofs your not Italian nor know how big he is in Italian. Michael Jackson never turn me in music and there are a lot good singer out there who are better then him. You American are all the same and think your the best in the work well your not in music, without other countries your nothing in music.
