Francis Buckley. Grammy winning Audio Engineer. All round great guy. Project studio fairy godmother?

In Studio Rescue we join Francis as he visits a range of home studios and combines the fundamentals of acoustic science with a few hard-earned industry secrets to get the most out of the available space.

This week Francis visits Glenn Smith Jr who suffers from chronic reflections mixing in his tiny bedroom.

  • @doducnguyen - Studio Rescue is absolutely free. Head over to the Studio Rescue website (linked in the video description) and register your details for your chance to be rescued in the next season!

  • ps noob here. what are the foams for?

  • @daivd333woso The acoustic foam aids in absorbing unwanted reflections in the room, so you are able to hear more of what is coming from the speakers and less of how the space is colouring or distorting that sound.

  • hey francis hope you can visit northern california...quick question my room is 11 foot by 13..do you think the room is to small for a project home studio?i need some pro advice thanks francis

  • @krazyeknine57 There are obvious considerations for smaller rooms, but that's not to say you can't get a great sound. Again it's all about the fundamentals of your position within the room and then the speaker placement in regards to the listening position. Have you applied for a studio resuce?

  • @rodemicrophones Nice video. When you're doing the sweetpot measurements, how far apart are the monitors? And how far is the monitors from the person's head to the monitor? In that triangle position I am speaking of.

  • I've really enjoy watching all the 12 episodes of "Rescue My Studio"; I've learned a lot, thank you. Let me say something about the comments made about this gentleman's decor and speakers. Not everyone has the means to purchase top of the line gear... or the gear you think is worthy. Funny thing, people seem to find a ways to "work" with what they have until they can do better. If you feel that strongly, reach in your pockets and buy Glenn what you think he really needs and hire a decorator. :)

  • you can use whatever you have available.. egg crates, towels/bed sheets as drapes.. dude you gotta try new things to get the sound you want. read up on acoustics, and its good to have a fair understanding of geometry... once you start makin money off your material, then upgrade...

  • There's something about those monitors..........

  • Can you save my studio

  • Nobody told him it is called a pop filter yet.

  • PIMP MY STUDIO?!
