@mootj3 That's his serratus anterior muscles. Their primary (but not "only") function is scapula abduction (bringing the shoulder blades apart). Besides the fact that you have to be really lean to see them, various pushing movements train them (for ex. a push-up plus, where at the top of the push-up you push extra to spread the shoulder blades a little extra). Lots of other analogous movements as well. They also outwardly rotate the scapula and help with scapula depression.
