Hello. My name is Ricardo Gouveia, from Portugal.
Would mind if I use a snapshot from your video for a poster presentation about Eagle Syndrome?
Thank you very much.

Can you please report how long (cm.) was the removed bone? Thanks.

I had Eagle syndrome surgery and they had to remove my tonsils to access the bone. Now I have to do it again. Is anybody know if this is going to be as bad as the one where they removed my tonsils ?
it will only be one side this time

@RB132 I had surgery for my eagle syndrome aprox 8 years ago, i was 20 at that time. I've been pain free for years, but it's gradually comming back now.
My surgeon warned me this could happen as the calcium deposit on the SP doesn't stop.
Hey Doc, I have a very elongated styloid process, its bilateral and longest on the right hand side. My main complaint is swallowing difficulty, dizziness and tmj issues. Its right near the jaw and it hurts quite alot. I am more worried that it could be carotid artery styloid syndrome. Whats the best thing for me to do? Risks? Is waiting to fix it a big issue? Its quite painful every single day. Thank you!!

It depends, excision of the enlongated styloid process is not a difficult operation. You can ask your family doctor, I am sure that he/she can give you the answer.

have you ever heard of this masquerading as a tmj issue?
navelover21m 3 years ago
It is possible. TMJ and the styloid process are neighborhood.

I don't get it

The cause of the Eagle syndrome is unknown. The X-ray finding is an enlongated styloid process. If the patient doesn't have any symptoms, he doesn't need any treatment. If he has symptoms, like my presented case, surgical treatment is indicated. There are several approaches for the Eagle syndrome, transparotid and transoral are the most common.
