@dmbbf5 There are only 31 football playing schools in Alaska split into 2 divisions. 15 Large school (4A) teams, and 16 small schools (3A) teams.
Due to domination by a couple of schools in the small schools division starting in 2012 there will be 3 divisions. The small schools will be split into a 9 team meduim schools (3A), and a 7 team small schools (2A) division.

@dmbbf5 There is a crap load of high schools. I'm too lazy to look it up. There are tons of small towns and villages and each one usually has a High School. Basketball is the most popular sport in AK because it can be played year round, and only requires 5 players.
