Quick Question.

I am going to get some society finches in a few months. I would like to start with a few pairs leaving them at liberty to do a little bit of breeding. However I was wondering if they have problems raising chicks with all of the birds going into the nest box to sleep. Does the weight of all the adults crush them? Would I have to move a pair and the nest to a separate cage so that the chicks don't get overly parented by the colony?

@yves2013 of all the finches I have raised the societys have the deepest parenting skills they all are very carfull with thier babies and have never squished one, in fact, I use them as serrogate parents all the time

@yves2013 yes, I have not had any problem with a nest box even packed with birds the babies do just fine

the socety finches are my favourite finches ,they're good and sweet...very pacific birds

I think your video is very cute! I remember watching it three weeks ago when I got my Society and Spice finches.

Yesterday I uploaded several youtube videos of my finches in their Avian Room. :) I have five eggs and hoping for another crested finch.
