RETURN TO MACON COUNTY, the highly successful
sequel to MACON COUNTY LINE, is the actionpacked
story of three exuberant youngsters on the loose in the
suddenly permissive world of America in the 1950's.
Nick Nolte, plays eager young race car driver Bo Hollinger.
He and his buddy, mechanic Harley McKay (Don Johnson)
are en route to compete in the Grand National drag races
in California, driving their yellow customized 1957 Chevy.
The trouble starts when they take on a new passenger,
a waitress names Junell (Robin Mattson). Junell is on
her way to Hollywwood, but isn't against having some seductive
fun along the way. Unfortunately, Junell has a strange
habit of pulling out her revolver when things start going
wrong. And things start going wrong the minute Bo, Harley,
and Junell pull into Macon County. No sooner do they arrive,
when they lock horns with the small town hoods and a hardboiled
sheriff, and they've got to burn rubber out of town,
leading a crazed chase across the country to an exciting climax.
