The first installment of "A Moot Booxlé Experiment". In this episode, Moot demonstrates what happens when he has a piano, a roll of masking tape, and some time on his hands. Mostly, a whole lot of meandering improvisations.
The piano was recorded using a pair of Oktava MC-012 small-diaphragm condenser microphones.
The music in the intro was composed and performed by Moot Booxlé.
The music at the end is library music; the original source is unknown.

  • 2:45 - 3:25 Is it from a song or just a part of your improvisation?

  • @MariosTsak That C - E7 - Am7 - Gm7 - C11 - Fmaj7 - Em7 - Dm7 - G progression has been used in a ton of songs! It's just a lot of fun to improvise over.

  • @mootbooxle

I was talking about the melodic line! It's really joyful and well structured! Despite that "tumble"!. I am going over that part again and again! : )

You should definitely write it down and make an extended version of it... It would be wonderful! I 'm gonna go improvise over this one now, although I m no pianist! Inspiring!

  • @MariosTsak Thanks a lot man!

  • That is a great sound. How do you come up with this stuff?

  • those chord shapes in that turn around at 5:48 just made me laugh! like some old silent movie intermission music...

seriously cool meanderings here. it's like Mike Keneally without the Zappa influence.

  • The bass sounds sound like an upright bass, to me any way. Your playing contributes to that feel as well ha. Great and also interesting video!

  • For some reason the sound of this piano with the masking tape and the general sound of the songs remind me of some great video game soundtracks. It sounds like Donkey Kong + Mario + Zelda: Ocarina of Time to me haha

  • you are an ultimate musician. I appreciate your contribution to the youtube community.
