  • how much did a rebuild cost estimated? i plan on rebuilding but im curious

  • @TREVORSNOWFLAKE Well, you have to consider the many variables of rebuilding a 4g63. Such as what kind of performance r u expecting, are you gonna rebuild it to race or just to drive around, if so, what's your hp goal? Going with forged pistons or just replacing stock parts? Do you have a good machine shop in mind? Lots of things factor into a final price of a rebuilt engine. I invested $6-8k easy on this car but If I had to do it again, I'd probably spend less than half knowing what i do now.

  • LOL dude, I TOTALLY forgot you had this video... Man, I wish I could trade my 99 GS-T for a GSX... Heck, I would trade my 99 GS-T for a built 1g AWD period..

    God bless!

  • @BASSCHAMP101 hahah, AWESOME MAN! Of course I remember you. Your name stands out. I told you to search on Craigslist to find a good deal on DSM's. As for the Auto AWD DSM, I have found that with minimal efforts, you can make an Auto DSM keep up with the quickest out there. The important thing is to upgrade the tranny with an IPT Transmission Stall Converter and Shift Box for quick shifting. The Auto trans will out last any 5spd times 10! Also, with an Auto DSM, you can build boost of the launch

  • @shawnmgarcia Is there a certain shift box to get? Because they have 3 on their website... LOL $5xx.00 for the converter I would like to not have to pay that much for a shift box too LOL.

  • @BASSCHAMP101 Yea the parts are a little pricey but there is nothing compared to a built Auto AWD DSM. You can build 20-30psi off of the line. Youtube search: Automatic DSM or Auto AWD DSM. With an IPT Tranny, 16g turbo+Fuel mods and a good tune, you can hit 10's easy .

  • @shawnmgarcia i just want to rebuild one with some aftermarket things but not a total drag car. but thanks for the price range and all the other things i wasn't thinking about.

  • @shawnmgarcia IDK if you rmember me but I was on your more recent videos saying I wish I could actaully get a DSM.... Well I own 2 now. 95 TSi AWD and 99 GS-T...

Are the auto. tansmissions THAT good that they can be used to drag with? Because I enjoy my auto. TSi... And have plans for a 16g :D

  • @BASSCHAMP101 Yea, this is an old one, but I remember recording it as if it were yesterday. I had some big plans for this car but as I progressed, I leaned more and more towards the AWD Platform as I researched. I completely gave up on FWD DSM's. It's just toooo much work to plan all the boosted power to just 2 front wheels. Since this video, I have purchased 2x 1g AWD DSM's and have sold one of them all ready. Now, I'm left with my 94 AWD Auto Talon which will some day be an Automatic Dragster.

  • @97gstluv just to clear this up a little bit, DSM was an official joint company that formed officially in 1989 but it was already in the work since the 70s when dodge was selling the mitsu galant here as a dodge colt and it led to Diamond Star Motors. the merger fell apart in 96 but the dsm 2g platform was continued until 99 then it went to the 3g etc etc
