On the first time that I played this level and found the secret area (long ago), I had to watch this video to learn how to jump to that first block. For my second time through the level (a few days ago), I could not get that trick to work again, but I formulated another way to get to the first block by jumping out of the ledge, turning towards the wall in mid-air, firing a star to bounce from the wall, catching that star, and jumping from it.

man, getting to jump on your star to reach the falling blocks is so frustrating.
