I think there should be more people like you, willing to save an instrument instead of throwing it away or destroying it. .

i actually think your piano looks beautiful, really. i find old sorta antique looking piano's really facinating. though shiny new ones are pretty too

We bought a fully working piano for £10 at an auction, it's a shame people throw them away for so little! Also give yourself some credit, that sounded pretty good to me, you're not bad at all :D

Beeeeuuuutiful sound. Thank you for rescuing it and making it new again.

i saw a old upright piano at a stor and it was so uncared for it made me sad :(

It doesn't need restoration, but it needs repainting.
-
wow you got that from the trash? pretty lucky i wish my neighbor had an upright to throw away

got a 1925 bluthner, sound SO much better than pretty much all newer piano´s i´ve ever played on (and i played many! ;D )
so make sure you get your re-weighted, tuned once every 10 days (if you play often enough) for a while, until it´s stabilizing and sounding good. make some 1 check if the mechanical part got a good response, or if it´s going to be tightened. have fun learning to play this awesome instrument! =)

It is worth restoring! Congratulations!

well I found a computer in the trash.

Good for you! Take some lessons & enjoy yourself! Does it have real ivories? Those pianos have harps (metal plate) that are made of alloys no longer available. They truly "don't make them like the used to." Thanks for restoring this old piano. :) I'm sure it's very happy in your home and it sounds rich even thru the computer.
nice sounding piano...regardless how it looks, it sounds fantastic....

@JakeWilder0 Thanks! I really need to make a newer video now that I have a camera with good audio. The sound on this old video was really crappy :-)

My friend had a upright grand and the kept it in their basement and now it is ruined forever =( like 1/2 the keys dont work and the ones that do stick and barely play. So sad, how people have no respect for music, instruments, or musical art.

Did it get wet? This piano was not at all playable when I picked it up. It was stored for decades in a cold damp garage. Luckily it was very well made and held together well. Just needed a few keys fixed and a major tune up :-)

yayyyyyyy finally someone with sense enough to rescue one of the old ones. Check out the other freaks who burn and smash them without taking the time to fix them.

Old pianos are built like tanks and have a wonderful rich sound. I hate when people wreck them. They don't realize that under all the black grime, there is a beautiful red mahagony piano that someone took great care in building. Someday I hope to finish restoring mine.
