Florida Lightning: August 31st 2009

This storm rolled up at around 6:45pm - 7:00pm EST. According to National Weather Service, Oviedo was in a severe thunderstorm warning in effect until 7:45pm EST. However, from where I shot this footage the storm had completely missed Oviedo and slammed Casselberry and Altimonte Springs. My parents were in Casselberry when the storm had hit and said the lighting was insane. Of course I stayed home to video tape the footage from there. I should have gone with them because the lightning out there was amazing.

Thunderstorms are awesome!! I live in Washington and we don't get a lot of thunderstorms. I really need to move to Florida to enjoy that weather.

Good video. I love the audio. This really gives a good idea of the approach of a good old Florida thunderstorm. I live about an hour away from this storm's location. I like 'em! Very exciting!

I love this video...the awesome clouds and the constant rumbles you got although in your coolsomed-in-depth video description you said your folks had the meat of this huge Tstomr...still...one nice lightning bolt seen under the ''false-mini-funnel'' seen at '8:35' was really interesting too. BTW... my 7/23/08-Tstorm video's got lotsa nice rumbles and several closeby crashes....which it starts off with a nasty squall line that spawned a tornado only 15 miles to my N.. enjoy !!
