The 2008 'New Forest Run' was held on Sunday 1st June 2008 but the entrants weren't running a 10k or a marathon - they were enjoying a leisurely drive around the National Park.
This was the 10th anniversary event organised by members of branch 1009 - the Southampton & New Forest MG Owners Club - who themselves own a variety of MGs spanning at least five decades.
Two hundred and thirteen entrants supported the event, many of which successfully completed the course, although one or two got distracted by the tasty food on offer from a number of public houses on the 80 mile route.
The trail took drivers around some of the most scenic parts of the New Forest identifying places of interest, stops for fuel and refreshments, whilst making their way to the finish where a tombola and a trade stall awaited.
The two main beneficiaries of the rally, Childrens Friendship League (Hampshire) and The Honeypot Foundation, will receive a donation of £1100 each as a result of this years efforts.
Pictures are available from the club web site - www . 1009mg . org . uk - of both this year's New Forest Run and previous events supported by the branch.
