  • Hands down the best emcee versus on youtube.

  • @Smileyfacedkiller i think flow wise pun edges it the rest is true though

  • YOU HAVE TO TAKE INTO CONSIDERATION MOST OF THESE WERE FREESTYLES FROM BIG L, hes without a doubt the greatest freestyler of all time, puns got the flow and lyrics, i think just because L spits raw, he wins. but both are in Top 5 regardless.

  • Big L killed it

  • @HitzR1

word. Let's smoke some trees and sit back and listen to these two greats.

  • @Smileyfacedkiller All of L's songs talk about killing, all of them.

Two different styles, saying whose better is all subjective, especially when comes to 2 great MC's.

I prefer Pun over L, but I can see where people think differently.

I'd rather not do this "list all the tracks" thing, gets boring when someone already has their mind made up.

  • @HitzR1

I don't think Pun was more versatile at all. If you look at his first album, almost all songs consist of gangster, bragging type of verses and songs. Even the few songs that deviated from that , Came up, Still not a player, touched on topics that are hardly original at all. Big L, with his punchlines and songs like "Fed up with the bullshit" "no endz no skinz" "devils son" "street struck" displayed more versatility in his first album.

  • @Smileyfacedkiller Pun was cut from that same mold as your Black Thoughts, RA's, Chino Xl's, and most of all G Rap. Much more flow & lyricism.

L's flow style comes from Lord Finesse & BDK, more punchlines & stories.

  • @Smileyfacedkiller Pun wasn't just shooting random words out, if you look at the lyrics everything made sense. He wasn't much of a storyteller but when he was on the mic you knew you would hear lines that were out this world. Beware, Capitol punishment, Wishful Thinking, Brave in the Heart.

Pun was much more versatile, Pun could hook you with his first rhyme whether it be a party track or him going raw. L had to use crazy concepts.

  • @Smileyfacedkiller L doesn't always stay on beat, that to me costs him as far as flow goes.(MVP, Furious Anger)

Pun on the other hand one with his beats. Ex. Every one of his tracks.

L wasn't a gangster rapper? Most of his tracks had gang related themes.
