"Level Up!" 100% Speed Run (2/2) [Grif]

This is a 100% speed run of Level Up!, an excellent Flash platformer/RPG. You can play it on Newgrounds here: http://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/519030

Objective: Complete the game as quickly as possible with 100% rating.

Basic strategy for Nightmare is painfully simple: Stand on the ledge and absorb blows and dark gems. 99% of the time, you can heal back to full before your invincibility wears off, so it's a matter of NOT recovering or moving around. Occasionally Nightmare gets stuck underneath the ledge, so I move out to the edge now and then.

Unlike other runs, I only had one moment of stupid futzing around; that is, where I sit at a Postbox and ponder my next move. I finish my path through the Tunnels and max out the rest of my levels soon after. All in all, a much better run than before.

Video note: My computer is not quite agile enough to capture every frame, so there will be some dropped frames, and possibly slowdown as well. I couldn't capture sound with Hypercam 2, and I don't have any better software.

good tactic mate, i just tried d-jumping to each of the ledges, which meant i healed well to begin with, but the longer the fight lasts, the more powerful he gets, which is a bummer
