  • u say u cant get into nutrual . there mite be an air lock that happend on my 1985 leyland vanhool and i coundnot get it in to nutrual

  • No, there is no air needed. The gear selection is purely mechanical.

  • Looks like you were straining to turn that steering wheel! Did this truck not have power steering?

I used to drive a 1978 Bedford TK (330cu in diesel engine) which had no power steering...needed very strong arms to maneuver at slow speeds!

  • You are dead right! No power steering!

  • What's that buzzer?

  • The buzzer sounds when the brake system's air pressure is too low.

  • i miss driving mj's always picked them over the daf's on the fleet, fair enough you got there long after everyone else but you could listen to that noise everyday and the engine idle screw made a good cruise controll for them long runs, and the emergency brake lever to the right of the steering wheel made for good hill starts!

  • @theadventurebiker you needed bloody strong arms to manouver even at high speeds! I cut my teeth driving these beasts in the 1970's and 8o's, and beast's they were! miss them tho.

  • with all bedford's you had to rev the arse off when starting in order to get the parking brake off!

  • transmition wind up ? Id maybe try jacking wheels up slowely. Never had it on mine but did look into it when that happened on mine. turned out that transfer rod to gear selected needed slightly adjusting.

  • would i be right i in saying the british army still use these to this day!:)

  • Nice sounding...love it!!

  • been there got the t shirt

  • My God. I love that noise (engine, not alarm!)

  • definitelt a bedford engine, you can tell by the sound. 330 I would think,

  • its a bedford/GM engine, i dont think that its a 500, more like a 330 turbo, you can/could get the bedford with a detroit or a cummins as well
