Short "pre-visualization" style animation for Art Creation class at the Guildhall at SMU.
Actually, it's more like pre-pre-pre viz (also known as super crap quality animation - no final gather, no caustics, indirect illumination, low poly-count, little or no material maps, etc.).
Anyway, the reason for the actual render quality being so low is due to 2 facts:
1. EXTREMELY short time constraints.
2. Scenes all rendered on a Dell XPS 1730m laptop. *sigh* I wish I had access to a (free) render farm.
This entire animation was completed from concept sketches to final render in about 2 work days (16-24 hrs).
The assignment was to create a simple short story with animation using a ball shaped object.
The videos our instructor showed for previous student examples were 30 seconds long at most and silent.
My "ball" animation is choreographed to music and is 3:30 long.
also is it free?
