  • nice work. When I was growing up a farmer had two hawks, one a golden hawk, in a machine shed. I remember they were such cool cars and in really nice shape. As far as I know, they are still there. What are cars like this worth? Studebaker had a real insight on design with their hood lines and low body.

  • @tostentwo thank you my grandpa had bought this one new. like most cars the value varies on options, and models. but a nice Hawk can range from 12k-25k. i saw one golden hawk on barret jackson go for 50k but that is a rarity. they are affordable classic cars that get tons of looks parts are fairly available now. check out the studebaker drivers club generally a hawk in the classfieds there.

  • Fantastic!!!! I saw Hawk on the Wing first and never suspected it was other than a garage-kept original. When did your grandpa quit driving / how long was it out in the pasture? Did he work at South Bend? Nice color too!

  • In the summer of 1969 my uncle tried to use a bumper bar to tow the hawk from northern Ohio to southern Indiana. The bar broke and it went into a yard clipping a tree, Bending an axle, and damaging a fender. It was parked after that. He ordered in November of 1960 and went with the dealer to pick it up he didnt want it on a hauler, but never worked for Studebaker. Thanks for the nice compliment.

  • Well done. You have every reason to be proud.

  • just wanted to say thanks for the inspiration, check mine out

  • @1961Hawk looks great, you have given me hope I may be able to take on a projcet like this one day.

  • it's so far more meaningful to restore a car that has sentimental value, was in the family.
