i wonder if people realize what this little speech really means.
it's right out of Alexis Tocqueville and his view of American democracy as being one of productivity but little genius.

It took me way too long to finally watch this movie, and of course it's everything i always heard it to be. As for this scene, I can't even imagine ever hearing the words "cuckoo clock" again without being reminded of it ...lol
