BEYOND THE VALLEY (PART 02)

In May 2008 NATALIFILM (Dan Popa & Robby Reis) traveled to NEPAL to create a documentary for the PAHS non-profit organization. What is PAHS? PAHS is a bold initiative to meet the needs of the poor in rural areas of Nepal by educating doctors who will practice there. Health conditions in rural Nepal are extremely poor and health care is sorely lacking. One significant contributor to this state of affairs is the unavailability of doctors and other medical personnel. PAHS is a homegrown solution to this problem. By educating doctors and other health providers in a way that encourages them to practise in rural areas, PAHS will provide a continuing stream of medical personnel to rural communities where they are needed most.
