  • what about the loose hanging old yarn? do you just cut it off?

  • @pomariiS2 any loose hanging ends you'll want to weave in and them trim the ends. If you are not sure how to do this, we do have a video showing you how to weave in ends on the Knit Picks channel.

  • I've tried this a couple of times. It always ends badly for me.

  • @downbythebay4 Until you secure your ends and weave them in, the stitches might look a bit loose and messy. Make sure to pull snuggly before you weave in your ends to tighten up loose stitches, if that is what hasn't been working for you. Good Luck and happy knitting!

  • Okay, but what if you want to change colors?

  • That'll be in an upcoming video - stay tuned!

  • THANK YOU!

  • Thanks so much for posting this. With your help, I just joined yarn in the midst of knitting for the very first time!

  • Thank you !!!!

  • thank u

  • or you could just add the strand without holding it with the other strand of the old one but yayy i just finished my blanket :D

  • There is also something called a Russian Join. In my opinion, this is one of the absolute BEST joins out there. Especially since you don't end up with double stitches like you do with the method shown in this video.
