Demi: (Puts her hand on the newspaper, pushing it to lay on the counter) Would you please talk to me?
Joe: What is there to talk about?
Demi: Youre upset.
Joe: It doesnt seem to matter.
Demi: Would you yell at me or something.
Joe: If I yell at you, it would wake the twins and upset Devin. And it never really gets us anywhere. So whats the point?
Demi: (Grabs his hand) What are you thinking?
Joe: (Pulls his hand away) That I need some air.
Demi: (Sighs) Im sorry.
Joe: (Stands up and heads towards the door) Oh, and one question, Dem?
Demi: (Nods)
Joe: How long have you been lying?
Demi: (Looks down and mumbles) I wasnt lying.
Joe: Then how long have you been seeing Mitchell without me knowing? How long has he been coming here?
Demi: Three months.
Joe: Okay, thanks (Opens the door)
Demi: Where are you going?
Joe: Well if I tell you, Id have to lie. So I just wont say anything, because thats not lying, right? (Walks out)
Demi: (Runs her hands through her hair)

*A couple of hours pass, with no return of Joe. While Noah and Sophie were sleeping, and Devin was in the play room, Demi was preparing supper. Soon before it was ready, Nick, Selena, Kevin, Danielle, David and Miley had arrived*
Selena: (Hugs Demi) Hey Dem!
Demi: (Forces a smile) Hi guys, how was school?
Nick: Same old.
Demi: (Looks at Kevin and Danielle) And work?
Danielle: Good.
Kevin: Nothing new. Pretty steady day though.
Demi: Thats good. Suppers almost ready if you guys want to sit.
Miley: Need any help Hun?
Demi: (Shakes her head) No thanks, Im fine.
David: Wheres Joe, I thought he was coming home early?
Demi: (Shrugs)
David: He wasnt here at all this afternoon?
Demi: He was for a bit, but he left.
Nick: Whered he go?
Demi: I dont know.
Selena: (Worried) Dem, is everything okay?
Demi: (Forces another smile) Peachy.
Miley: What happened?
Demi: Nothing.
Danielle: You dont need to lie to us.
Kevin: Dem, we can see something happened. Why did Joe leave?
Demi: (Sighs) Could you all sit at the table please, supper will be served in a couple minutes.
Nick: (Looks into Demis eyes, trying to read what shes thinking)
Demi: (Holding back tears, she looks back giving him a drop it stare)
Nick: (Walks into the dining room, sitting at the table)
Kevin: (Follows Nick)
David: (Goes to the dining room with Nick and Kevin)
Demi: Sel, you should probably get Devin washed up, hes in his room.
Danielle: (Smiles) Ill go, I can check on Noah and Sophie too.
Demi: Thanks.
Danielle: (Leaves)
Miley: Okay, now tell us.
Demi: (Shrugs) Tell you what?
Selena: Dem
Demi: (Sighs) Joe came home early today.
Miley: What happened?
Demi: Mitchell was kind of here when he did.
Miley: (Confused) Mitchell? Thats why hes always off in the afternoon
Selena: What was he doing here?
Demi: He just helps me sometimes with Noah and Sophie. Devin too.
Selena: How long has he been helping you?
Miley: Three months, right?
Demi: (Confused) Howd--
Miley: He started taking the odd afternoon off shortly after Christmas. He was always making up some weird lie to David and Me. Why would he do that, Dem? What did you two need to hide?
Selena: (Eyes widen) Demi!
Demi: No, no, its not that. I wouldnt do that.
Selena: Then what is it Dem, because I really dont understand.
Demi: We are just friends. Thats all well ever be, I swear.
Miley: I take it that Joe doesnt think its that simple.
Demi: I guess not. I thought he trusted me. After everything weve been through, theres no reason for me to be cheating on him. I love him.
Selena: Sweetie, he loves you too.
Demi: I just wish he wasnt so angry with me.
Selena: I think that he feels hurt, more than angry.
Demi: (Shrugs) Maybe. Anyways, supper is ready, we should go eat.
