this makes me wanna cry. MTV used to be so cool and catered to artists and musicians and an awesome culture. 15 years later it is now a vapid dump of misogynistic messages and brainless consumption. People that are in that audience and that remember this have to know how blessed they were to see and experience that.

I remember this era so well! It was the tipping point, just where MTV went from mostly videos and live music shows (wasn't that the POINT of the network, after all?) to a bunch of soft-porn bullshit programming and gameshows that have absolutely NOTHING to do with music.

I was at this show and it was fun. And by fun I mean it was hell. The sign said free concert, No Doubt and Cypress Hill. Ok that sounds fun. Then we go in. MTV wont let you bring in any water, you have to buy it and it was expensive. It was also hot and everyone was hungover. So almost an hour later in the sun, Cypress Hill comes out, plays one song for the tv. Then 40 mins later No Doubt comes out and plays one song. Then "Thanks for coming, hoped you enjoyed it" , The good old days?
