Hello, My name is Orry Martin: The Texas Snake Hunter. This documentary is about the Trans-pecos Copperhead (Agkistrodon contortrix pictigaster). This is one of the most famous copperheads among collectors, treasured for its high variability in patterning and color. They are stunning to see in person and he was fun to film.

  • @Ziggymoder15

Thanks for watching buddy and try to refrain from killing snakes. They mean you no harm and do far more good than bad. I hope you enjoy our future films.

  • Thank you for sharing your knowledge of our native snakes.

Far too many people would rather kill a snake than to just leave it alone.

  • @MrJohanasBilderberg

That is what I notice as well. Their reactions are directly correlated with the people coming in contact with them. You leave them alone, they leave you alone. :)

Good job for you not joining them

  • @gatorhunter92 I've just heard stories, but they have been known to strike without being provoked. At least, as far as those who have experience. I don't know if they are telling the truth, because i have only had one run-in with an eastern cottonmouth, and that ended in a man nearby shooting it. As far as i could tell, it was just as calm as it could be, swimming through the water, and all of a sudden, about 5 people were whipping at it with their fishing poles. He never came at me, though.

    Agkistrodon?? ;)

I have not heard of Tn having problems with them?? What kind of problems are they having? Bites? They are pretty laid back snakes. CRAZY!?!?! Louisiana has a ton as well, but I would not say they have problems with them.
