I find josephchen2592 posting interesting. I am Singaporean. I speak and write English and Mandarin. My mother is Hainanese and father hokkien. Taiwanese is my mother tongue and Mandarin is the official language. They are both accepted in Taiwan. But please don't exclude dialects in order to emphasize the importance of Mandarin. I want to be a new Taiwanese that speaks English,Taiwanese,Hakka,Canton­ese and Mandarin in the same time at the same place. Language ability is our fatal weakness when we study ,travel and doing business. We must improve our language ability like Singaporeans.
