Open Thou Mine Eyes -- John Rutter (b. 1945), words by Lancelot Andrewes (1555-1626)

The WELS Youth Chorale (WYC) is pleased to make its second annual tour following its formation in 2008. Along with its sister group, the WELS Youth Wind Ensemble, WYC is sponsored by Soli Deo Gloria Institution for the Arts, a non-profit organization in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, that is committed to promoting excellence in all areas of the fine arts. The mission of WYC is to serve Christ as living voices of the Gospel through the pursuit of excellence in choral singing.

Comprised of high school singers from around the country who were selected through an audition process, the chorale meets one weekend each month beginning in January. These retreats feature extensive rehearsals as well as participation in local worship services.

  • Here is the place for closed-captioning. LA's brilliant writing, that walks out in time to this very moment ... always moving forward, moving ... raven

  • This is truly breathtaking. Unbelievable that these are High School Students. A much better version than those of most of the University recordings on youtube.

And what a voice on that soloist! SUCH control! Bravo!
