A Jick Love Story Episode 115 (Nightmares)

I put Keiras peanut butter and banana sandwich in front of her and sat on the other side of the counter with Nick. How exactly do you go about telling your new 6 year old daughter what gay means. I looked at Nick for some help but he was looking down, blushing. I smiled a bit, hes so cute. I looked back at Keira and she was taking small bites of her sandwich and looking up at me, waiting for me to say something. I took a deep breath.
Joe: Keira, what would you say love is?
Keira: When a mommy and a daddy really really like each other.
Joe: Who told you that?
Keira: My mom,..
Joe: Well that is true but sometimes, *Looks at Nick.* it can happen with two people of the same gender.
Keira: But Ive never heard of two daddies before.
Joe: *Looking down.* Thats cause most of the time girls and boys fall in love with each other, but sometimes boys cant see them selves falling in love with a girl or the other way around, and fall in love with someone like them. *Takes Nicks hand.*
Nick: *Smiles.*
Keira: *Smiles.* Where did you guys meet?
Nick: *Giggles.* I ran into Joe on my first day of school, and fell and he helped me up.
Keira: How do you know when your in love?
Nick: *Looks into Joes eyes. Smiles.* When you know you would do anything for that person, no matter what.
Joe: *Kisses Nicks cheek.*
Keira: *Giggles.* Cooties!
Joe: *Laughs.* Right, thats why your not getting a boyfriend until your 30.
Keira: Good, boys have cooties.
Joe: *Laughs.* Good, remember that.
Keira: Can I have some milk?
Joe: Of course. *Gets her a glass of milk.*
Keira: *Drinks some.*
Joe; *Smiles at Nick.*
Nick: *Smiles back.*
~Later that night..
Joe: *Tucks Keira into bed.* Goodnight sweetheart, well see you in the morning.
Keira: *A little scared.* Um, okay, is there a nightlight?
Nick: Yes. *Turns one on by the door. Kisses her forehead.*
Keira: *Smiles.*
Joe; *Walks out with Nick and into their bed room.* So, first day as parents. I think we did pretty good.
Nick: *Smiles and hugs him.* We did amazing. *Kisses him.*
Joe: *Slowly deepens it and lifts Nicks shirt over his head, throws it on the floor.*
Nick: *Pulls away.* Baby, Keiras in the other room. Lets just wait till she goes to school so we dont risk anything.
Joe: *Sighs.* Fine. It might be hard trying to keep my hands off you though.
Nick: *Giggles.* Ill think you can deal. *Pulls off his pants so hes in his boxers. Gets in bed.*
Joe: *Does the same and gets in bed with him. Pulls Nick in really close.* I love you so much baby.
Nick: *Smiles.* I love you too.
~Later that night
Keira: *Walks into the room with tears in her eyes.* Daddy? *Slowly walks over to the bed and climbs in between them. Gets under the covers and falls asleep.*
~The next morning
Joe: *Wakes up slowly. Sees Keira in between him and Nick. Smiles at how cute she is sleeping. Moves hair out of her face.* Sweetheart, are you okay?
Keira: *Wakes up and hugs him face.* I had a nightmare last night. *Sniffles.*
Joe: Do you have a lot of nightmares?
Keira: *Nods shakily.* Every night.
Joe: What are they about?
