In 2003 a music festival weekend was held in the community of Maningrida, a town in the Arnhem Land Aboriginal Land Trust on the north coast of the Northern Territory of Australia. During the music and sports festival a ceremony was held to commemorate the contribution of deceased members of Arnhem land bands such as Letterstick, Sunrize and Soft Sands. Women carried a long banner to the stage as men sang traditional songs to didgeridoo and clap sticks. This short film is by Dr Bill Day.
Thanks for posting this, Letterstick have been a brilliant band and very sad that they have lost a few members over the years
