Magdalene's view seems more correct. Moreover, she might have had more accurate view of Jesus' teachings, who seemed to know far more beyond the main senses. Obviously men wanted also freedom from Romans and from old Jews. They wanted to be the ones too. They may have not known the real relationship of those two or conversely they may have known too much. They may have had no women of their own, that could have made them sour. too.
