While left-wing evangelicals would like to see American Christians move beyond issues such as abortion and homosexuality, the fact is, those issues are fundamental matters that should not be shoved aside.

What a sizable number of evangelicals have bought into is Obama's call for "change." What kind of change doesn't seem to matter. As Ingrid points out, one expert claims 40% of evangelicals are likely to vote for him. One notable example who has come out in favor of Obama is T.D. Jakes, pastor of The Potter's House in Dallas, Texas.

Is John McCain the answer? Do evangelicals have nowhere else to turn? Listeners weigh in with their opinions as they look at the offerings and discuss who they're planning on voting for in the upcoming election.

The reason most people get abortions is because there is no social safety net. Europe has much fewer abortions than us, but it's totally legal there. Latin America outlaws abortion because the Catholic Church sets the law. But they have more abortions than we do. Republican pro-rich policies have done more to push people into abortion than any supreme court decision. Wise up. Stop being the fundamentalist idiots you so often are. Think pragmatically.
