  • body buiders main goal is to look big so they take supplements and drugs to stimulate body growth. while athletes are fit and strong, condition to what they are required to do with max efficiency.

  • The so-called "Chinese Method" implements concentric overhead squats from blocks in phases. They're able to properly identify lifters who will benefit from structural lifts training towards improving the squat jerks because of the sheer number of great coaches they have staffing their training halls and constantly rooting out problems in technique. Some lifters have great power and technique but just don't do so well with the split jerk and are able to progress more rapidly with the squat jerk..

  • @TheShankman If you are referring that his arms are not straight, they don't have to be. Some have elbow problems and can't fully extend their arms, or it's just an technique thing. Keeping the arm in the same position after the weight is jerked is enough.

  • olympic weightlifting requires way more strict dieting joint sacrifices dedication and science compared to bodybuilding. these guys require serious medical supervision as well as supplementary advantage compared to many of other athletes in other sports

  • @illuzn88 lol what.. athletes and Olympians take just as many supplements, if not more

  • did he make that lift? looked pretty far from a lockout to me

  • @zislam159159 I understand that but the timing they take the steroids before testing and stuff is down to a science. I'm not really sure if there are random tests so I'm pretty mis informed in that respect... but you have to remember bodybuilders in some competitions also go through steroid testings.

  • @afterthefact17 man the testing they go thru is ridiculous. so I would highly doubt it.

  • @SizzlinSisley

dude only powerlifters in US do half squats in Europe powerlifters do full squats ofcourse with lower weights but the thing is that the rules are different

  • What you guys don't understand is that a power lifting squat and an olympic lifter's squat are two entirely different lifts. An olympic lifter goes to full depth and bounces out of the bottom. A powerlifter barely hits parralell. Nobody in the world has ever actually done a full squat with 600 kg, and if power lifters have done half squats with it, I gurantee there are plenty of 105+ olympic lifters that can do half squats with it as well.

  • @athleticchak Did you just say 'weightlifters' can do what powerlifters do easily?

  • @illuzn88 I'm sure these guys take steroids too.
