  • Other than high end and low end power, whats the difference between a supercharger and a turbocharger? like how they work

  • A turbocharger is a high speed air pump, simmilar to a jet engine, driven by the engines exhaust. A supercharger is a low speed pump driven off of a belt. Except for the very best centrifugal superchargers, turbochargers are much much more efficient and therefore make more power per pound of pressure. The problem is that you have to wait for the exhaust blowing by to get it spinning fast enough, where a belt driven supercharger makes boost instantly with enough engine rpm.

  • first off, let me tell you that i LOVE Supras. But it's not the Supra that's the shit, its the 2JZ-GTE under the hood that is the shit. I had my heart set on buying a 98 Supra because I love them so much, but what I really want is just the engine. You can put +20 lbs. of boost on a STOCK 2JZ engine producing +700HP! The motor is the beast, not necessarily the Supra.

  • @WhammyMechanics agreed :)

  • @CTSV4MEE Still american muscle(:

  • @chuckmekere You are right on pretty much everything you said. I own a Viper but completely respect what the Supra can do. I truly would like to see the best Twin Turbo Supra run the quarter or mile with the best twin Turbo Viper. Would be a fantastic race.

  • @WhammyMechanics Actually wrong.... The Viper ACR now holds the record again.

  • timyestim- WRONG. Vipers are more expensive.

and A Supra only takes $20K to make 1000 HP with, assuming you bought the car already.

The aftermarket is bigger for the Supra and parts are cheaper for the Supra because they are more common than Vipers.

  • @elpianistaaltamirano ZR1 holds the nurgburgring record (raping your porches and imports), and rapes any porsche, import (stock) in the same class.

  • @elpianistaaltamirano You're retarded. You make that claim after watching a T-88 auto Supra barely edge out a supercharged 6 speed Viper?

  • American muscle sucks, it is only a tough sound of the engine, but at the and a much smaller and cheap engine bit it..american muscle don't keep up against japanese or european technology

  • The soopra might have won the drag race but he still lost overall because he probably paid more for it than the Viper and it probably has 3 times as many miles on it.... Then he spent 30-40gs on it where the viper probably has half that in it...

  • The results at the end of the video are definitely NOT in favor of the Dodge Viper.
