Cleaned up the carby a bit for when i come across another victa engine.
I have decided not to rebuild my one as there is some problems, so better off getting a near complete motor.

  • Hi Matt,

I have an old Victa 160cc with the carby in this vid.

I have a problem with the carby and cant find any support, manuals etc to help resolve it.

Essentially, when I fuel the machine it starts to leak through the sprung "primer" hole constantly. I have stripped it back and its got all the bits you show laid out on the table except for the two objects you handle immediately after the needle (0:39sec) - There is nothing that blocks the hole. Any ideas or suggestions?

    Cheers!

  • @kwiffboy Hey there, Just recheck that the float and needle are all seated right when you put the bowl back on. They tend to leak alot from the hole, i find that as soon as you see a drop of fuel come out of it, just go ahead and start it, then the leak should stop after 2 or 3 seconds. Let me know how you go.

    cheers.

  • Ahh fair enough, should be the same i reckon so yeah no worries :)

  • Yep replied to it on other vid :D

  • @mattyvt93 thing is, you'd have to replace the magneto with yours as the one on mine, someone cut the connecting lead off to the spark plug, but thats a simple fix

  • @mattyvt93 as i said, i have a motor you might want that i dont need which i reckon is the same. Look at my video called "Victa Corvette 2 POS Lawnmower" and if you want the engine, you can have it for free mate :) (cost of postage of course)

  • Yep :D, lol yeah kinda small, but does the job.

    Yep hope so, cheers.

  • Looks great now all cleaned up,really small carb though lol. I'm sure you will find another engine for It.Great video.
