Because Juan Smith, Jean Deysel, and Schalk Burger are all better flankers, and Russouw is past his sell by date. To be honest I'd love to see Heinrich Brüssow and Jean Deysel on the flank, and Pierre Spies at No. 8... with either Burger, Smith or Kankowski on the bench. Powerful stuff that!
