September 22, 2007. I don't know how this happened. Southbound SR 167 at mile post nine. Just south of the 24 street east overpass. The driver clipped the right side of the state highway sign and continued at a straight angle down the embankment and into the water.

The 911 dispatch reported it was a submerged vehicle with the driver trapped on the roof. Although it turned out not to be, and it was non injury, it still made for some good news footage and the drive through fair traffic to get to the scene.

I put the camera away thinking the truck would be towed away. I was wrong. the driver drove away with cattails and the other debris stuck in the bumpers and wheel wells along with a large amount of steam from the exhaust.
