Short train trip from Interlaken to Lauterbrunnen on BOB train ( Berner Oberland Bahn ) and then from Lauterbrunnen to Murren on BLM ( Bergbahn Lauterbrunnen-Murren ) service. The funicular in the movie was replaced by a cable car in 2006

    Thank you guys :-)

  • we were in Murren on 911, the weather that day was absolutely the clearest it could be. No one could believe in such a beautiful place that there could be such ugliness and hatred in the world. i want to go again this time with my kids. maybe we will see you there.

  • Wow - what dramatic weather! I've seen lots of sunny views of this journey but this is really special! Nice shots of the old funicular (I'm really sad that it's gone - luckily I got to ride on it in 2005) and good views of the rack on the BOB part of the journey.

  • you've created anice video with nice music. the music suits perfectly. great vision.

  • Great video - we made the same trip on a clear day in 2000. I recall taking a cable car then the funicular (maybe I have it backwards). Ate at a great restaurant in Murren (pumpkin soup, red cabbage and boar - one of the best meals of my life). Scenery makes Yosemite look like just another park.

  • Lol we listened to Samantha Brown who said to go really early before it gets cloudy. It was foggy and cloudy on the way down from the Schilthorn but the way up was spectacular.

  • its really awesome

  • The reason the funicular was replaced is because of ground movement which is cleary demonstrated by the slewed track shown on this video.

  • It is a pity that the day was cloudy - you can get beautiful views on the way to Murren in the train . . .

    I was lucky.

What about the next part to Schilthorn ?

  • I've been up to Murren for the last 6 summers running. The funicular use to have endless lines and took about 20 minutes. The new cable car is about 2minutes long and the lines are the shortest i've ever seen
