鏗鏘集 - 歲月催人 (2/3) - Hong Kong Connection

According to the census released early this year (2007), in the past 10 years the population has been aging more and more elderly people living alone, reaching 110,000 people.

While the average male life expectancy in Hong Kong recently also the first time overtaken Japan as the world's oldest male place.

But with bodily functions increasingly recession, friends left side, the ever-changing scenery familiar with the elderly how to cope and deal with this?

Through this program will be a number of 70 to 80-year-old playing with the lives of elderly people and see what their needs are, and our community has been ready to meet the challenge.

Population aging is happan every because the baby boomer generation is getting old. The birth rate has also fallen drastically in the last ten years in many developed countries. The government is not heartless but what can it do? It is either spend alot of money on the seniors who don't pay taxes or spending money on infrastructures and us young people who will pay taxes. The problem will only get worst in next 20 years with no clear solution in sight.

very sad, I don't want to say our government is heartless, but from their action I can not see it other way, many countries are tackling the problem of ageing population but we are one of the worst in the list.
