Jenna, sometimes the director is going for a particular look for the ensemble, or sound, and the person doesn't fit that look/sound. It isn't always a case of talent or skill that determines whether someone is ensemble or a lead/supporting role.

see, i dont get when directors do that. i feel that if you are good enough to be thought in as a lead or supporting role for a callback, you should obviously be good enough for ensemble.
