Jan. 18 - Bush is calling for a package of tax cuts and other measures totaling around $140 billion to shore up U.S. economy. Amid bleak reports on retail sales and other data suggesting a possible recession, Bush and the Democratic-led Congress are negotiating to see if they can reach common ground on a plan to shore up growth. Deborah Lutterbeck reports.

  • if spending is not cut we will have to pay this money back with interest. these leaders of ours are absolutely terrible.they are ruining this country and people seem to go along with it. Americans seem to be very uninformed and self-centered. we deserve the coming depression if we do nothing about it. go RonPaul.

  • No matter what Bush does at this point he will not get credit as doing something positive. I'm not a Bush supporter by any means but I laugh when I see the liberal media shaping the thoughts of so many young people these days. Pathetic.

  • so its ok for a bush stimulus but not OBAMA DOUBLE STANDARDS BY FOX

  • @albertason

Rodman is correct. Iraq was an Unconstitutional war because Congress did not declare it. And Bush was a terrible President who got us into war with a country that had nothing to do with 9/11 by his own admission and they never had WMD. There should be a criminal investigation into his administration to see if we were led to war under false pretense.

  • Well how else would we have gotten to Iraq. What I said is that it was an EXCUSE to go to war. Anyways, he didnt get approval of congress and thats UNCONSTITUTIONAL. Hes a criminal.

  • The reason I don't believe that is because since 1989 when Bush Sr. was in office, there was an amendment added to the constitution which frees the executive branch from the need for congress to approve war. although it has never come to pass, since 1989, the president has the power to override all branches and declare war. Therefore, he didn't need to lie to go to war.

  • He planned 9/11 as an excuse to get us into the war and take away our rights.

  • Bush knows more about war than I do. He knows more about the economy me than I claim to know. I respect him, and I feel like he did the best job he could during the difficult times he served.

  • Yeah, I know, really. Kerry would've been better. I voted Kerry.

Nothing good came out of the Bush legacy. His 8 years were so bad that Americans are willing and ready to vote for an ex-muslim, African American whose middle name is "Hussein" for a better America.
