I know i'm a little late, but I think the only reason people call such things 'gay' is due to societal pre-conditioning. They have been told everything which isn't overly manly is gay and so it becomes simple to negate whole art forms. three years ago I had no interest in ballet (I still don't) but I just like the movements.
