Edward's cousin Gwennie Sale (a brilliant Irish fiddler) was tragically killed in Chicago in 2002. She had been adopted by the Irish community in Chicago and they had an all day (literally!)standing-room-only wake at Martyrs' Bar to celebrate her short life. Edward (age 13), tearfully, gave his contribution. He was privileged to share the stage during the "session" breaks with the likes of John Daly and Kat Eggleston. When the tears started rolling down his cheeks as he played, EVERY single women there (and a few men too) started to cry. It was an amazing moment of empathy. Gwennie is sadly missed.
