Martin Sings Temper Trap Sweet Disposition. Autistic Superstars broadcast BBC3 20th May 2009. The concluding part of the documentary in which radio DJ Reggie Yates follows a group of autistic people between the ages of 11 and 23 during the build-up to a one-off music performance. The day of the event arrives, with seasoned professionals such as pianist Derek Paravicini performing alongside a cast with little experience, including 18-year-old Martin, who is almost completely non-verbal - except when he sings.

  • I always cry when I watch this - Martin is so wonderful and an amazing ambassador for people on the spectrum. He proves that anything is possible and that they shouldn't count people like us out just because we have ASD.

    Just wonderful.

  • exactly as they have heard it, can they create their own wording, their own tune or sound that differs from that which they have heard?

  • I still havent been told or been able to find out, can people who are autistic create their own music at all or are they in fact like a recorder so to speak and therefore could only ever repeat what they have heard?
